Booklets
Our members produce a variety of booklets that follow a different format to the standard reports, for instance on the history of houses built after 1700, histories of estates and research carried out by our members on different types of buildings such as schools and farm buildings.
The copyright of most booklets belongs to Discovering Old Welsh Houses. Where copyright resides with others, we have made every effort to obtain their permission to reproduce the booklet on our website. Our policy is to allow free access to our research documents as part of our public benefit as a registered charity. You are welcome to reproduce this material but if you do so, please acknowledge the source.
Older booklets sometimes refer to the old names of the Group. Between 2005 and 2012 also known as The Snowdonia Dendrochronology Project, then the N W Wales Dendrochronology Project and then the Dating Old Welsh Houses Group.
All houses mentioned on the website are private and are NOT open to the public at any time. Any queries should be directed to website@dowh.wales.

Discovering the Historic Houses of Snowdonia
Over the years, the tree-ring dating (dendrochronology) assessing and sampling work has been put out to tender jointly with the RCAHMW with the Oxford Dendrochronology Laboratory winning the contracts.
The collaboration with the Royal Commission resulted in the joint publication in 2014 of the critically well received illustrated book, “Discovering the Historic Houses of Snowdonia”.
The book is available to purchase in both hardback and eBook versions on the Royal Commission's website.
