What We Do

We encourage and help members to research all aspects of the history of individual houses and communities, looking at architectural and landscape features as well as documentary evidence (including poetry).

We support volunteers to design and develop projects to identify pre 1700 houses for further research.

We also seek grants for dating and building recording and publish our research on our website with open access to all.

We arrange visits to houses and other historic buildings that are not normally open to the public and arrange talks and presentations on a wide range of topics related to old houses, many of them online via Zoom.

We produce a quarterly bilingual Newsletter.

Our Members-Only Area is where our members can login to find out about upcoming vists, local and online talks and see our latest newsletter.

We always welcome new members, whatever your level of interest or knowledge.
